Why do my email’s numbers show a dash?
Short answer
In the list view, a dash under Recipients, Open rate, or Click rate usually means there is no finished send to count. Drafts and scheduled emails show dashes until they go out.
A dash is there on purpose, not by mistake. The list view of the Emails page counts what a send did, and a dash nearly always means there is nothing to count. Cards show no numbers at all; switch to the list with the second of the two view buttons beside Create email.
What each dash means
- Dashes on a draft or a scheduled email. Nothing has gone out, so there is no one to count. The numbers appear once the send finishes.
- A dash under Open rate or Click rate on a sent email. No email was delivered, so there is no rate to work out. This happens when every address bounced. See Why didn’t someone get my email?
- Dashes on every row, sent emails too. Jounce couldn’t load the numbers. Reload the page.
- Empty cells for a moment. The numbers are on their way. They fill in as the page loads.
What the columns count
Recipients is how many people the send went to. Open rate and Click rate are shares of delivered mail, worked out the same way as on the results page. See How Jounce counts opens, clicks, and bounces.
Rest your pointer on a rate to see the counts behind it, such as 612 of 1,222 delivered. Jounce never shows a rate above 100%; while the counts are still settling, it shows a dash instead.
For the full picture of one send, select its card. It reads View results and opens the email’s results page.
