Why does the editor say Couldn’t save?
Short answer
Jounce couldn’t save your last change, but your email is safe as it was last saved. Copy any new words, refresh the page, and add back what didn’t save.
Jounce couldn’t save your last change, so it’s only on your screen. Your email is safe as it was last saved.
The label at the bottom right reads Couldn’t save, and Jounce says Jounce couldn’t save your last change, but it’s still on your screen. Copy any new words, then refresh the page. The message shows once until your changes save again, and it stays until you close it.
Your connection isn’t the cause. Jounce turned the change down, or this browser couldn’t store it. When you go offline, a note at the bottom left says so, and your changes wait on this computer instead. See How the editor saves your work.
The fix
- Copy any new words you want to keep. Refreshing loses the change, and so can leaving the email.
- Refresh the page, and confirm when your browser asks. The email opens as it was last saved.
- Add back what didn’t save. Paste your words, and redo anything else you changed.
If the same change still won’t save after a refresh, tell us. See Get help from a person at Jounce.
Note If the Couldn’t save label goes away before you refresh, there’s nothing to fix. Jounce saves the whole email each time, so the change that failed is saved too. In an email that opens in the earlier editor, the label reads Saved again instead.
If Jounce says your account isn’t allowed
Jounce says That didn’t save — your account isn’t allowed to make that change here anymore. Nothing changed; refresh to see what you can do. Your account can no longer edit this workspace, for example because an admin removed you.
Copy any words you want to keep, then refresh the page to see where you stand. See Why does it say I’m not in a workspace?
