After sending
The page that follows the send button, the results page and what its numbers mean, your A/B test’s outcome, and what to do when a send is partly sent, held, or failed.
- The page after you sendWhen you press the send button, Jounce opens one page with one message: Sent, Sending, Scheduled, your A/B test is running, or what stopped it. Each state names what went out and offers the next step.
- Open an email’s resultsOn the Emails page, point at a sent email’s card and select View results. The page after you send, an email on the Calendar tab, and a row under Recent sends in Analytics open the same page.
- The results pageOne email’s results: who it reached, then a column of cards, the first with its delivered, open, and click rates over its bounces, spam complaints, and unsubscribes. A warning box leads the page when the send fell short.
- How Jounce counts opens, clicks, and bouncesOpen rate and click rate count each person once, out of the mail that was delivered: sent minus bounces. Bounces, spam complaints, and unsubscribes are counts, and a dash means there is no real number to show.
- What a good open rate looks likeNo one number makes an open rate good or bad, because some mail apps open emails for the reader and push every rate up. Compare each send with your own earlier ones and trust clicks; a low rate often starts with mail filed under spam.
- Opens by mail app and clicks by deviceOpens by mail app splits the opens between Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, and Other or unknown. Clicks by device splits the clicks between Mobile, Desktop, and Tablet, and each row shows its share and a count.
- The A/B test resultsOn a tested email’s results page, an A/B test card shows each subject line with its clicks and click rate, over a bar. A Leading badge marks the front-runner during the wait, and Winner marks the one that went to everyone else.
- Finish an A/B test that stoppedIf the winner round, the send to the rest of your list, stops before it sends to anyone, the email’s results page usually offers Review and finish. That button opens the page after you send, where Finish sending to the rest sends the winning subject to those still owed it.
- Why does my email say Partly sent? The send finished, but some of your list couldn’t be delivered to, a sending pause stopped it partway, or Jounce couldn’t confirm how far it got. The results page says how many went out, everyone who got it keeps it, and the email is saved.
- Why does my email say Won’t send?Jounce is holding a scheduled send; nothing has gone out, and your email and audience are saved. The results page names the reason: some holds end on their own, and where a person has to end one, it offers the way to send it.
- Why does my A/B test say Won’t finish? The test group got both subject lines, but the winner can’t go to the rest of your list, and the results page says why. Part of your list already has the email, so the campaign can’t go out again; duplicate it if you need a new send.
- Why did my send fail? Both the page after you send and the results page give the reason Jounce recorded, plus one button to the fix. Almost always, no one was emailed and your email and audience are saved.
- Why can’t I see results for an email? There is no finished send to count yet, or the send predates tracking. The results page says which in one line, and a dash for one number means it wasn’t tracked.
