The address and unsubscribe blocks

Open Emails

The editor opens from any draft.

Short answer

In every email you create, your mailing address and Unsubscribe link under the last block aren’t blocks: Jounce writes both lines when it sends. In the earlier editor, two blocks stand in for them, and their panels change only how the lines look in that editor.

In every email you create, two lines in small print sit under the last block: your mailing address, then Unsubscribe. They aren’t blocks. For an email that opens in the earlier editor, where the two lines are blocks, see the last section.

The two lines

The first line is the mailing address saved as your default on the Address settings page. Until you save one, it reads Your postal address. See Add your mailing address.

A click on either line selects nothing, as a click on the space around the email does. The settings panel then reads Email. You can’t delete or move the lines.

The address has nothing to type. The unsubscribe line takes your own words around its link, under Unsubscribe line in that panel. See Add your own words around the unsubscribe link.

Jounce writes both lines itself when it sends, the same way in every email. See What Jounce adds to the bottom of every email.

In an email that opens in the earlier editor

There, the two lines are blocks at the very bottom of the email, there from the start. They stay at the bottom, and you can’t delete or move them. Point at either and a dashed line reads Footer · required — stays at the bottom. See Why can’t I delete this block?

The confirmation email your forms send has neither block.

The address block

The line shows the mailing address saved as your default on the Address settings page. When the email has no address to show, it reads Created address instead. The block has no words of its own to type. Point at it and the label reads Edit address.

Select it and the panel reads Block › Address. Type holds Font, Weight, and Size. Appearance holds Color and Align.

The unsubscribe block

The line reads unsubscribe. Point at it and a small label reads Edit unsubscribe. Its panel is the address block’s: Block › Unsubscribe, then Type and Appearance.

What the panels change

Note The rows change how the two lines look in the editor. In the sent email, Jounce writes both lines itself, in its own small print at the very bottom. That way every reader gets your address and a working unsubscribe link, however you built the email.

For a closing line of your own words, the Footer tile is a different block. See The Footer block.
