The Footer block
Short answer
In every email you create, the close is a layout from the tray’s Footers tile: your logo, a closing line, and social icons or a row of links. The earlier editor’s Footer block is a small closing line with three fill-ins.
In every email you create, the bottom of your email is a closing layout. Pick the tray’s Footers tile and choose one. There’s no Footer block, and Personalize doesn’t list a year, a company name, or an address. For an email that opens in the earlier editor, see the last section.
- Sign-off: your logo, one closing line, and your social icons, centered. Colored close is the same on your brand color, and Sign-off on the left sets it on the left.
- Footer links: a centered row of two to five links, like About, Help, and Contact. Switch on your logo and a short line to add them.
- Logo, line and links: your logo, one short line, and a row of links, set on the left.
Type your closing line in the email, as you would any words. See Edit text in your email.
Not the same as the unsubscribe line
Your mailing address and the unsubscribe link follow the last block in every email. They don’t come from a closing layout. See What Jounce adds to the bottom of every email.
In an email that opens in the earlier editor
There, the Footer tile in the block tray adds a small line of closing text. It starts as a copyright line with three tags: Year, Company name, and Company address. Each tag is a fill-in Jounce completes when the email goes out:
| Tag | Fills in with |
|---|---|
| Year | The year the email is sent |
| Company name | Your first and last name, or your From name if you haven’t added those |
| Company address | Your default mailing address, on one line |
Some older accounts have a company name saved, and the tag uses that first. No page in Jounce changes it, so to show another name, delete the tag and type the name.
Every reader sees the same name and address. You set your name on the Basics page, your From name on the Sending page, and your address on the Address page. Hover a tag and it explains itself. Delete a tag like any word.
The rest is ordinary text. Type over it, format it, add a link. Select it and the panel reads Block › Footer. Its rows are the Text block’s: Font, Weight, and Size; Color and Align; Block link; Letter spacing and Padding. See The Text block.
For a row of short links across the bottom of the email there, add a Linkbar instead; see The Link bar block.
The mailing address and the unsubscribe link are two blocks Jounce keeps at the bottom of every email there. They can’t be deleted and don’t come from this tile. See Why can’t I delete this block?
