Images and video
Pictures and video in your email. Upload, reuse, and find free photos; zoom, shape, and describe them; use the Logo block; and see how a video travels through an inbox.
- Add an image to your emailSelect a photo spot, or add a photo from the tray’s Photos tile, then choose Browse images. You can upload a picture, reuse one from Your images, or search free photos.
- The image pickerBrowse images, or Replace on a filled spot, opens the picker over the editor. Your images holds every upload, and removing one there touches no email; Free photos searches a stock library.
- Zoom and reposition a photoSelect the photo and drag the Zoom slider in the panel. Once the photo is zoomed, or has a set shape, drag its preview to choose which part shows.
- Give a photo a set shapeSelect the photo and pick Square, Portrait, or Landscape under Shape, below its Zoom slider. Original keeps the photo’s own shape, and a layout that sets its own shape has no Shape row.
- Remove the background from a photoSelect the photo in an Offer poster and pick Cutout under Picture in the settings panel. Jounce removes the photo’s background, so your product or person stands on a shade of your brand color.
- Describe an image for readers who can’t see itSelect the photo, open Advanced at the foot of the panel, and type a short description under Describe this image. Screen readers read it aloud, and it shows in place of the picture when a mail app hides images.
- Add a videoPick the tray’s Videos tile, choose the video on its own, and paste a YouTube or Vimeo link under Link. For a video with a headline and a button, add a video layout from the Intros tile and link its picture.
- Add a video on its ownSelect the + between two blocks, pick Videos, select the card, and paste your video’s address under Link. A YouTube or Vimeo link brings its picture, and the email can’t be sent until the video has a link and a picture.
- Link a video layout to your videoTo make a video layout’s play button open your video, select its picture and paste the video’s address under Link. A YouTube or Vimeo link also brings the video’s own picture.
- The Image blockAn Image block holds one photo. Its panel sets the picture and its zoom, the photo’s shape, a link for the whole block, and the photo’s description.
- The Logo blockYour logo comes from your Brand page and is the same in every email, in headers and most closing layouts. Select it to replace it or set its size.
- The Video blockA video goes out as its picture with a play button, and a tap opens the video. Pick the Videos tile for a video on its own, or a video layout under Intros for one with a headline and a button.
- How images travel in emailYour email holds a link to each picture, not the picture itself, and the reader’s mail app fetches it on opening. That’s why descriptions, cropping, and empty spots work the way they do.
- Why won’t my image upload? It’s usually the file’s type or size, and the message at the foot of the screen says which. Nothing was added, and your email is unchanged.
- Why doesn’t my video play in the email?Email can’t play video, so Jounce sends the video’s picture with a play button, and a tap opens it on YouTube or Vimeo. If a tap opens nothing, the picture has no link: select it and paste your video’s address under Link.
