Send an email
The three send steps: who gets the email, the subject line, and the review with the send button. Scheduling, testing two subject lines, the checks Jounce runs first, and handing off for someone else to send.
- The send stepsSelect Continue in the editor, and three steps fill the screen: Recipients, Subject, and Review. Review shows who gets the email, from whom, and when, with the send button under it.
- Choose who gets your emailOn the Recipients step, pick one or more segments, or select Add people and type addresses. The number at the top counts who will receive the email.
- Exclude people or segmentsOn the Recipients step, select Exclude people or segments. Anyone you add to the Won’t receive box is left out, even if a segment above includes them.
- Write the subject line and preview textThe Subject step holds the subject line and the preview text, the line inboxes show after the subject. You write both here, and Jounce keeps them when you close the steps, send, schedule, or hand off.
- Test two subject linesOn the Subject step, select Test two subject lines and add a second one. Jounce sends each to part of your list, then sends the subject with more clicks to everyone else 24 hours later.
- Change the name your email comes fromOn the Review step, select Change beside From, type the name readers should see, and select Done. The address beside it is the one the email really goes from: your business name at send.jouncemail.com, or your own domain once you’ve set one up.
- Schedule your email for laterOn the Review step, choose Schedule under When, pick a date, a time, and a time zone, then select Schedule for and the time. The email waits on your Emails page as Scheduled until then.
- What Jounce checks before it sendsJounce needs a verified email, a postal address, real web links, some live text, and at least one person who can get mail. It also stops for a brand kit you haven’t saved, a block it can’t show, a personalization tag in a design that goes out as a picture, too many of those designs, or a gap left to fill; the rest is advice.
- Hand off an email for someone else to sendAs an Editor, walk the send steps and select Save and hand off on the last one. Jounce saves the subject, preview text, and recipients, and the email waits on the Emails page as Ready to send, for an Admin or Manager.
- Why is the send button off? It’s usually the count: the button needs a fresh count above zero, with no address or segment in red. The step you’re on names what to fix.
- Why didn’t my email send when I pressed the button?Jounce stopped before anything went out and said why in a message at the bottom of the screen. Your email is saved, so fix the one thing the message names and select the button again.
- Why is Jounce skipping some people? They asked not to hear from you, or their address can’t receive mail. Jounce counts them out of every send so your emails stay out of spam folders, and the line under the count says how many.
