The editor
The screen where you build an email: what’s where, and how to select, edit, add, move, and save blocks. Plus the Jounce AI chat, undo and autosave, the preview, and the editor’s messages.
- The earlier email editorThis is the earlier editor: it opens for an email made in it, and every email you create opens in the other one. It shows the email’s name in its top bar, with Undo and Redo at the bottom right.
- The email editor screenEvery email you create opens in this editor, with Jounce AI on the left and Undo, Redo, Preview, Send test and Continue in the top bar. The settings panel on the right shows the settings for what you select, including how many items a list holds; folded, it counts the Before you send lines that stop the send.
- Select what you want to editPoint at your email and a thin outline shows what a click selects. Click once to select it and see its settings, and click selected words again to type in them.
- Add a blockPoint at the top or bottom edge of any block and select the + that appears. Pick a tile in the tray, then a design in the panel, and the block is added there with its settings open.
- Move, duplicate, or delete a blockSelect a whole block, and tools stand beside it: Move up, Move down, Duplicate, a star, and Delete block, which Undo takes back. In an email that opens in the earlier editor, a grip drags the block instead.
- Save a block to favoritesSelect the star on a block to save it, then add it to another email from the Favorites tile in the tray. Favorites saved in the earlier editor are kept apart, and show only in emails that open there.
- Edit your email with Jounce AISelect Jounce AI on the left edge of the editor, type what you want changed, and press Enter. Jounce reads the email, makes the change, and says what it did, and one Undo puts it all back.
- How the editor saves your workEvery change saves on its own, so there is no save button. Undo and Redo sit in the top bar, and the bottom right corner speaks up only when a change couldn’t save.
- Preview your emailSelect Preview in the top bar. The email opens the way it arrives, on a phone first, with Desktop and Plain text a click away.
- Why can’t I delete this block?Usually a part of the block is selected, not the whole block: press Esc, then choose Delete block in the tools beside it. Your mailing address and the unsubscribe line aren’t blocks, so they always stay.
- Why does a block say it can’t be shown? The block uses a design Jounce no longer offers, so none of it shows. The rest of your email is fine: delete that block to send it.
- Why does the email editor say it needs a bigger screen?Your window is too narrow for the email you’re editing and the room the editor needs around it, and nothing is lost. Widen the window, turn a tablet sideways, or open Jounce on a desktop, and the editor is where you left it.
- Why does the editor say Couldn’t save?Jounce couldn’t save your last change, but your email is safe as it was last saved. Copy any new words, refresh the page, and add back what didn’t save.
- Why does it say my email or form couldn’t be opened?Jounce couldn’t open the email or form, so it took you back without changing anything. Open it again from your list, or if the message says it’s still saved, chat with Jo.
- Why won’t my test email send? The Send test dialog needs at least one valid address, up to twenty per test, and thirty test emails an hour across your workspace. Jounce also skips anyone who asked not to hear from you or can’t receive mail, and the dialog says what stopped it.
- Why does the editor say Gmail will clip this?Gmail shows about 102KB of an email in full, then cuts off the end, and the unsubscribe link with it. Trim the longest sections.
- Why does my email look different from the editor? The editor shows the desktop view, and every mail app draws an email its own way. Open Preview on Mobile first, then check the images, the fonts, dark mode, and the length against the list below.
