Add a button on its own
Short answer
In every email you create, select the + between two blocks, pick Buttons, then the first card. Type its words and paste its web address under Link; a button with no words is left out of the sent email.
When you’re done, one button sits where you pointed, with your words on it and your link behind it.
These steps are for every email you create. For an email that opens in the earlier editor, see the last section.
- Point at the block above or below the spot you want. Select the + at its edge, and the tray opens.
- Pick Buttons. The settings panel shows that group of the layout library. Nothing is added yet.
- Select the first card, the single button under the heading On its own. The button is added, centered, with sample words and no link. The panel’s heading reads Block.
- Click the button, then click it again, and type its words.
- In the panel, paste the web address into the box under Link and press Enter.
If the settings panel is folded to its edge, select the edge, Settings, to see the library.
Until the button has a link, Before you send lists it, in a line such as One button still needs a link. The email can’t be sent until it has one. See What an AI draft leaves to you.
Move it to the left
Alignment, under Appearance in the same panel, offers Left and Center. Left lines the button up with a Text block or a letter above it.
The panel has no rows for the button’s look. Its color, style, corners, and case come from Colors and Shape on your Brand page. See The Brand page.
If the button has no words
A button with no words is left out of the sent email, and Preview shows the email without it. Before you send doesn’t list it.
In the editor, the button’s spot stays. Click it, then click it again, and type its words.
Remove the button
Select the button and press Delete or Backspace. The whole block goes. Jounce says Block deleted and offers Undo. If your cursor is in the button, press Esc first.
In an email that opens in the earlier editor
Select the same +, then pick the Button tile in the tray. See The Button block.
Next step
To have a click also add the reader to a segment, see Link actions.
