Text and links
The five blocks made of words: Text, Title, Button, Signature, and Footer. Typing and formatting in the email, links and PDF attachments, a subscriber’s name in the text, and how the two kinds of font travel.
- Edit text in your emailClick the words once to select them and again to place the cursor. Type as you would anywhere; select words to format them with the toolbar that appears above them.
- The text formatting toolbarSelect words and a small toolbar appears above them. As the words allow, it holds bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, two kinds of list, a link, a PDF attachment, and Personalize.
- Add a link to textSelect the words, choose Link on the toolbar, paste the address, and press Enter. The paperclip beside it links the words to a PDF you upload instead.
- Personalize with a subscriber’s nameSelect the word the name replaces, choose Personalize on the toolbar, and pick First name. Choose a word to show when a subscriber has no first name; the default is "there".
- Link actionsA link action is what Jounce does when a subscriber clicks: add them to a segment, remove them from one, or set a custom field. It lives under a button’s link and under a block link.
- Email-safe and exact-look fontsYour words travel as live text in your brand’s fonts, and an inbox without one shows a close standard match. A few layouts send part of themselves as a picture, so those words look exact in every inbox.
- The Text blockA Text block is a paragraph on its own. You type the words in the email; its panel sets their weight and color, and your Brand page sets the font.
- The Title blockIn every email you create, a heading is part of a layout: for one on its own, add the Text layout and switch on Heading. In the earlier editor, a Title block is a heading on one line with its own font settings.
- Add a button on its ownIn every email you create, select the + between two blocks, pick Buttons, then the first card. Type its words and paste its web address under Link; a button with no words is left out of the sent email.
- The Button blockA button is a link dressed as a box: select it, and the box under Link sets where it goes. Its color, corners, and case come from your Brand page.
- The Signature blockIn every email you create, pick the letter signed by hand from the Text tile: Jounce sends its handwritten name as an image. Click the name once to select it, then click it again to type yours; in the earlier editor, add a Signature block instead.
- The Footer blockIn every email you create, the close is a layout from the tray’s Footers tile: your logo, a closing line, and social icons or a row of links. The earlier editor’s Footer block is a small closing line with three fill-ins.
- Why can’t I add a link to this text? The words are a heading, a label, a price, or a button’s words, which take no text link, or the address didn’t take. Link the button or the whole block instead, or fix the address the link box names.
