Layouts and block settings
The layout library and swapping a design without losing your words. The two settings panels: the Block panel for one block, the Email panel for the whole email.
- The layout libraryThe settings panel’s gallery of designs, sorted into groups, where each card is a live preview and a click puts it in your email. The Videos group holds one video on its own; cover photos and videos with a headline sit in Intros.
- Add a designed layoutSelect the + at a block’s edge, pick a tile, and choose a card in the panel’s library: it’s added at once. In the earlier editor, the tray’s Layout tile opens that library.
- Swap a layoutSelect the block, choose Swap design in the panel, and pick another card. Each similar design’s card shows your own words and photos, just as the swap would land, and Undo brings the old design back.
- The Block panelSelect a whole block and the panel’s heading reads Block, with Swap design beside it. Under it sit a list’s item count, Elements, Appearance, and a link for the whole block.
- Change a block’s background or borderSelect the block, choose Swap design, and pick the same design on the background you want. A block’s colors come from your Brand page, and it takes no border.
- Link a whole blockSelect the whole block and paste a web address under Block link, at the foot of the panel. Everything in the block, words and photos alike, opens that one address.
- Show or hide part of a blockSelect the whole block and use the switch beside a part’s name under Elements. Off hides it; on brings it back with its words.
- Change an icon in a blockIn every email you create, select an icon and pick another in the settings panel; All icons opens the whole set. An icon has no color setting: Jounce draws it dark on a light background and light on a dark one.
- Change the space around a blockIn every email you create, each design carries its own spacing and Jounce sets the gap between two blocks, so there’s no padding to set. In the earlier editor, Padding under Advanced sets the space inside a block.
- The color pickerEvery color swatch in the panel opens the same picker. Your brand colors come first, then a grid of all colors, No fill, and a box for a hex code.
- The Email settings panelSelect the space around your email and the panel reads Email. It sets how this email sits in the inbox, your own words around the unsubscribe link, and opens your brand kit.
- Change your email’s background and cardSelect the space around your email, and Page sets this email Open or Framed. The background, text color, and corners come from your Brand page, which Brand kit opens over your email.
- Why does Swap layout show only some layouts?Swap design usually opens on Similar layouts, the designs your words and photos can move into, with the rest under All layouts in its menu. In an email that opens in the earlier editor, Swap layout lists only the designs with room for everything you wrote.
