Why can’t I publish my form?
Short answer
An Editor sees a Draft label in place of the button, and an unverified email opens a window asking you to verify. If Jounce said it couldn’t publish, your work is saved; try again.
Your form and its settings are saved whatever happened. Open Share and match what you see.
You see a Draft label and A manager can publish it
Only Managers and Admins can publish. Editors design and change forms. Ask a Manager or an Admin to open the form and select Share, or to change your role. See Workspace roles.
A window says Verify your email to publish
You signed up with an email and a password and haven’t verified it yet. Jounce asks before anything goes on the internet in your name. The form stays a draft, and everything in it is saved.
Open the link Jounce sent you, select I’ve verified, then select the publish button again. Didn’t get it? Resend in the window sends a fresh link. On a page that’s already live, Claim address asks the same way, with Verify your email to set your public address. See Verify your email address.
The button won’t select, and the dialog shows Your address
Your workspace has no handle yet, so the page needs one before it can go live.
Jounce holds the button while it checks the handle in the box, and while the box is empty or holds a handle it won’t take. The box says which: Pick a handle for your public address. or That handle’s taken. Try another. Fix the handle and wait for Available. Then the button comes back. See Claim your handle.
If a line under the box reads That didn’t save. Your current address is unchanged — try again., the handle didn’t save and the page stayed a draft. Select the button again.
Jounce said it couldn’t publish
Couldn’t publish your form right now — your work is safe. Try again. On a full page it says page in place of form, and on a link-in-bio page link in bio.
The request didn’t get through. Nothing changed: the form is still a draft, and everything in it is saved. Select Publish form, Publish page, or Publish link in bio again. If it keeps failing, check your connection, then leave the editor and open the form again.
If you set the address on the way, Jounce opens with what it kept: Your address is set. Couldn’t publish your page right now — your work is safe. Try again. The address is saved, so the second try goes straight to publishing. See Claim your handle.
Jounce said publishing is paused
A red notice at the top of the dialog reads Someone at Jounce took this workspace’s pages offline, so publishing is paused. Your forms and subscribers are safe. Write to hello@jounce.com and ask why. If the dialog shows Your address, the same words sit under that box instead.
Every form and page this workspace had published is offline, pop-ups and inline forms included. Each one went back to Draft, and its link or embed code stopped working. Nothing was deleted: your forms, their settings, and your subscribers are all there.
Trying again won’t work: the button shows the same notice until Jounce turns publishing back on. To ask why, select Email Jounce in the notice, or write to hello@jounce.com yourself. Say which workspace you mean.
While publishing is paused, you can’t claim or change your public address, and the workspace’s Admins can’t create another workspace. The pause doesn’t stop your emails.
Once Jounce turns publishing back on, nothing goes live by itself. Open each form, select Share, and publish it again. Its link is the same as before, and code already on your site works again. Your pages stay out of search results until Jounce allows them there. See Why isn’t my page in search results?.
You can’t find Share at all
Share sits at the top right of the editor, beside Settings. On a small window, a notice covers the editor instead. Open Jounce on a desktop. See Why does the editor say it needs a bigger screen?.
It published, but the card still says Draft
Go back to Forms. The card’s label reads Live once the page has refreshed its list, and the card’s menu gains Share.
