How the form editor saves your work

Short answer

Every change saves on its own, so there is no save button. Undo and Redo are the two arrows in the top bar, and the bottom right corner stays empty unless a save fails.

There is no save button. Each change saves to your workspace a moment after you make it.

What you see while it saves

Nothing. The bottom right corner of the form’s frame stays empty while your changes save.

The corner speaks up only when a change doesn’t save. Then it reads Couldn’t save. See Why does the form editor say Couldn’t save?

If you close the tab while a change is still saving, your browser asks whether you want to leave. Once the change has saved, it won’t.

Undo and redo

Undo and Redo are the two arrows in the top bar, between Phone and Settings. They step back and forward through your changes. Each is dimmed when there is nothing to undo or redo.

Undo is ⌘Z on a Mac or Ctrl+Z on Windows. Redo is ⇧⌘Z or Ctrl+Shift+Z. Undoing typing takes back a stretch at a time, never letter by letter.

An undone change stays available to redo until you make a new change. Hiding a part, moving a block, adding one and swapping a design are each one step.

Undo keeps your last 100 steps from this visit. Leave the editor and come back, and it starts again from there.

If you go offline

A note at the bottom left says Offline — edits stored on this device. Keep working. Each change waits on this computer until you’re back online, then reaches Jounce on its own. Jounce says Back online. Everything synced. once they have.

A live form

When the form is live, each save also updates the live form a few seconds after you stop. See Editing a live form.
