Why can’t I delete this?
Short answer
Some parts of a form stay by design. Delete hides a part where it can, and where it can’t, Jounce says why in a short line at the bottom right.
Your form is fine, and nothing was removed. Pressing Delete hides a part where it can. See Hide or show an element.
Where it can’t, Jounce says why in a short line at the bottom right of the window. It fades after a few seconds, so press Delete again if you missed it. The lines are the headings below.
That’s the whole form. Delete it from your Forms list.
You pressed Delete with a whole pop-up selected. A pop-up is one design, so there is no block to delete. To take one part out, select that part first. To delete the form itself, see Delete a form.
This element is part of the design, so it can’t be removed.
You selected a part the form needs: a heading, the email field, or the sign-up button. Every form asks for an email address and has a button to send it. The parts around them can be hidden.
The sign-up fields are the form itself, so they stay.
You tried to delete the only block of sign-up fields. A full page that places them twice lets you delete one of the two.
This design shows the sign-up fields once.
You chose Duplicate on the sign-up fields of an inline form or a link-in-bio page. Only a full page can place them twice.
This design comes as one piece. Change the whole design, not single blocks.
You chose Duplicate or Delete block, or pressed Delete on a whole block, on an inline form or a link-in-bio page. Those keep the blocks they came with. You can still move a block, and hide the parts inside it. Only a full page adds and removes blocks; see Add, move, or remove a block.
The thank-you screen keeps the blocks it came with. You can change what’s in them.
You pressed Delete on a whole block of the thank-you screen, or on a photo there that was already removed. That screen keeps its blocks on every form. Select its words to change them, or switch a part off in Elements; see Change the thank-you screen.
