Why does the confirmation link say it expired?

The link was older than 7 days. The page they saw reads This link didn’t work, and under it: It’s either broken or too old. Confirmation links last 7 days. Sign up again, or ask the sender to resend it. Nothing about their signup was lost. They are still in Audience as Unconfirmed, and a fresh link fixes it.

The same page shows up when a link reached them damaged, since some mail apps cut a long link in half. A fresh link fixes both.

Send a fresh link

Find them in Audience, open the menu at the end of their row, and choose Resend confirmation. See Resend a confirmation email.

Or they can fill in your form again with the same address. Jounce sends the link again, unless it sent one in the last 15 minutes or they’ve had five in all. Either way, they stay one person on your list.

If the page said something else

• This signup is gone. Their record is no longer in your audience. An Erase removes it for good. A plain Delete doesn’t, so a deleted subscriber’s confirmation link still works. They can sign up again.
• This link is out of date. You changed their email address after the link went out. Resend the confirmation so the new address gets its own link.
• This link can’t sign you up. Their address was unsubscribed after the link went out, and an old link can’t undo that. Resend confirmation won’t help either, since it only reaches Unconfirmed people. If they want your emails again, they fill in your form again and use the new link.
• This subscription can’t be confirmed. That address bounced or marked an earlier email as spam. A fresh link won’t help. They need another address.
