Editing a live form

A live form stays live while you edit it. There is no separate publish step after a change.

Jounce saves each edit as you make it, and once you pause, it updates the live form to match. The form’s link, and the code you pasted into your site, stay the same.

To see the change, open the form’s link, or the page you put it on, and reload it. A page at your myjounce.com address can show the old version for a minute or two first. See Your form as a visitor sees it.

Your edits save but don’t reach the live form in two cases, and Jounce tells you when either happens; see below. One is a role of Editor, since only Managers and Admins can put changes live. The other is an email you haven’t verified yet.

If you’d rather work in private, open Share and select Unpublish first. The form goes back to a draft, and Share puts it live again when you’re ready. See Unpublish a form.

When the live form doesn’t update

Your edits are safe either way; they’re saved in the editor.

• The live page didn’t update. Your changes are saved — a manager’s next edit puts them live. Your role is Editor. Ask a Manager or an Admin to open the form, change a word, and click away from it. Your edits go live with that change. Or ask an Admin to make you a Manager on the Members page. Then reload the page and make the same change yourself. See Workspace roles.
• The live page didn’t update. Your changes are saved — verify your email with the link Jounce sent you, and your next change puts them live. Your email isn’t verified. Open the link Jounce sent you, or select Resend link in the message for a fresh one. Then change a word and click away from it. See Verify your email address.
• The live page didn’t update. Your changes are saved — the next save tries again. The update didn’t get through. Change a word and click away from it, and Jounce tries again on its own.

A few seconds after that change, the live form updates. If you didn’t want the change, wait those few seconds, then change the word back and click away again. The live form updates once more.

The change has to stay until Jounce saves it, a moment after you click away. Clicking into the words and out again saves nothing. Neither does a letter you type and delete before you click away.
