Draft and live

Short answer

A form is a draft until a Manager or Admin publishes it from Share in the editor; then it’s live and visitors can reach it. Unpublish turns it back into a draft, and the numbers it collected stay.

Every form has one of two states, and the label on its card says which.

Draft means the form is yours alone. You can open it, change it, and preview it, but no visitor can reach it. A draft has no working link. Code pasted from an earlier publish shows This form isn’t available in place of an inline form. A pop-up stays closed. A draft collects no signups and counts no views.

Live means it’s out in the world. Its link works, its embed code shows the form on your site, and every signup lands in your audience. The card’s menu gains Share, which opens the editor with the link or the code ready to copy.

You can keep editing a live form. Each change saves as you make it and reaches the live form a few seconds later. See Editing a live form.

Going live

Publishing happens in the editor, from Share at the top right. Publish your form has the steps. The label on the card changes to Live.

Managers and Admins publish. An Editor can build and change a form. But in the Share dialog they see A manager can publish it instead of the button. Workspace roles explains the three roles.

Back to draft

In the same Share dialog, Unpublish takes a live form offline. You can publish it again whenever you like, and the link and the code come back as they were. Unpublish a form says what visitors see meanwhile and what happens to the numbers.

Deleting a live form takes it offline first, then removes it. See Delete a form.
