The form editor
The screen where you make a form yours. It covers what’s where, Jounce AI, selecting, editing, hiding and showing, Form and Thank you, the phone view, designs and blocks, saving, and live forms.
- The form editorEvery form you create opens in this editor, with Jounce AI on its left edge and a settings panel on the right. The top bar names the form’s kind and holds Form and Thank you, the width buttons, Undo, Redo, Settings and Share.
- Edit your form with Jounce AISelect Jounce AI on the left edge of the form editor, type what you want changed, and press Enter. Jounce reads the form, makes the change, and says what it did, and one Undo puts it all back.
- Select what you want to editPoint at the form and a thin outline shows what a click selects. Click once to select it and open its settings, and click selected words again to type.
- Edit the words, images, and buttonsSelect any words on the form, then click them again to type over them: a heading, a paragraph, a field’s label or the sign-up button. A photo is replaced in the settings panel.
- Hide or show an elementSelect a part and press Delete to hide it; nothing is removed. To bring it back, turn its switch on under Elements in the settings panel.
- See your form and its thank-you screenSelect Thank you in the editor’s top bar to see and edit the screen a visitor gets after they sign up. Select Form to go back; the editor opens on Form each time.
- See your form on a phoneSelect Phone in the editor’s top bar. The editor shows the form at a phone’s width, and you can keep editing in that view.
- Swap your form’s designOn a full page, select a block and choose Swap design to give it another design. A pop-up, an inline form and a link-in-bio page keep the design they were made with.
- Add, move, or remove a blockOn a full page, the + at a block’s edge adds a block, and the tools beside a selected block move, copy or delete it. An inline form and a link-in-bio page can only reorder their blocks.
- How the form editor saves your workEvery change saves on its own, so there is no save button. Undo and Redo are the two arrows in the top bar, and the bottom right corner stays empty unless a save fails.
- Editing a live formYou can edit a form while it’s live. Every change saves as you make it, and the live form updates a few seconds after you stop.
- Why can’t I delete this? Some parts of a form stay by design. Delete hides a part where it can, and where it can’t, Jounce says why in a short line at the bottom right.
- Why does the form editor say Couldn’t save?Jounce couldn’t save your last change, but your form is safe as it was last saved. Copy any new words, refresh the page, and add back what didn’t save.
- Why does the editor say it needs a bigger screen?Your window is too narrow to show the form at its real size. Your work is saved: widen the window or open Jounce on a desktop, and the editor is where you left it.
