Unpublish a form
Short answer
Open the form, select Share, then Unpublish; Jounce says Unpublished — your form is safe, the link is off. The form is a draft again, and everything it collected stays.
When you’re done, the form is a draft. Nobody can sign up through it until you publish it again. Its design, its settings, and its numbers are all still there.
- Open Forms and select the form. The editor opens.
- Select Share at the top right. The top row reads Live.
- Select Unpublish. There is no confirmation. Jounce says Unpublished — your form is safe, the link is off, and the dialog shows the Publish button again.
Managers and Admins unpublish. An Editor doesn’t see the button.
What happens
- A full page or a link-in-bio page. Its link stops working. A visitor who opens it sees a Jounce page that says the link doesn’t lead anywhere. On the longer Jounce address, they see This form isn’t available instead. The page can keep answering for a minute or two first, so check the link again after that.
- A pop-up or an inline form. The code on your site stays where you pasted it, but the form inside it is gone. An inline form shows a notice in its place, This form isn’t available. Take its code off your site if the form is staying offline for long. A pop-up stays closed, so visitors don’t see it.
- The numbers stay. Views and submissions keep showing in the Forms page’s list view. The people who signed up stay in your audience. See The Forms page.
Publishing it again
Select Publish form or Publish page in the same dialog. The link is the same as before, and so is the embed code. Anything you shared or pasted works again as it was.
Note To hide a form for good, delete it instead. Deleting takes a live form offline first. See Delete a form.
If it didn’t go through
Jounce says Couldn’t unpublish your form right now — it’s still live. Try again. The form stays live and keeps collecting signups until Unpublish works.
Next step
When it’s ready again, see Publish your form; the same link turns back on.
