Edit the words, images, and buttons
Short answer
Select any words on the form, then click them again to type over them: a heading, a paragraph, a field’s label or the sign-up button. A photo is replaced in the settings panel.
When you’re done, the template’s words and pictures are yours. Jounce saves each change as you make it.
Words
- Select the heading, the paragraph or the small line you want. An outline marks it.
- Click it again. The cursor appears where you clicked.
- Type. The form grows as you type.
- Click somewhere else, or press Esc, when you’re done.
Highlight some words in a paragraph and a small bar appears. Point at a button to see its name. From the left:
- Bold, Italic, Underline and Strikethrough.
- Numbered list and Bulleted list turn the paragraphs you highlighted into a list. Choose the same button again to turn them back.
- Link opens a small box. Type or paste the address and press Enter. To take a link off, highlight its words, choose Link, then Remove link, the ×.
- Attach a file, the paperclip, links the words to a PDF you upload. The PDF has to be under 10 MB.
A heading’s bar stops at the first four, and a quote or a list of benefits has no list buttons. The small line above a heading and the fine print have no bar.
When a visitor follows a link in your form’s words, the page or PDF opens in a new tab. The form stays open behind it, with anything they typed. That holds on a page of its own, and in a pop-up or an inline form on your website.
On a form the bar has no Personalize, the button that puts a subscriber’s name in an email. A visitor could be anyone, so Jounce has no name to fill in. For an email, see Personalize with a subscriber’s name.
In the settings panel, Color sets that text’s color. It reads Brand until you pick one: a color from your brand kit, or a hex code you type. Reset to brand puts it back. A paragraph also has Weight, with Regular and Bold.
Fields and the sign-up button
A field’s label and the sign-up button’s words change the same way.
- Select the field or the button.
- Click it again. In a field the cursor lands in the label, never in the box.
- Type, then click somewhere else or press Enter.
Neither can be left empty. Delete every word and leave, and Jounce puts back the words it had.
To change which fields the form asks for, see Add or remove a field. To make a visitor fill one in, see Make a field required.
Photos
Some designs carry a photo. Select it, and the settings panel shows it at the top.
- Point at the picture in the panel and select Replace. The picker opens on Your images, your past uploads. Select Upload an image to use your own picture. Free photos searches a library of stock photos.
- Drag Zoom to move in on the picture.
- Open Advanced at the foot of the panel.
- Under Describe this image, type the sentence a screen reader says in place of the picture.
To take a photo out, select it and press Delete. Jounce says Photo removed. and offers Undo. The empty spot reads Your photo until you add one.
Link rows on a link-in-bio page
Each row in a list of links is a button a visitor follows.
- To change a row’s words, select it, then click it again and type.
- To set where it goes, select the row. Under Link in the settings panel, type its web address. A row has no address until you give it one.
- To add or remove rows, select the whole list. Links shows the count between − and +.
A row opens in the same tab, so a visitor leaves your page for where the row goes.
Next step
Check it at a phone’s width in See your form on a phone, then Publish your form.
