Why are my form’s numbers blank?

Short answer

A form that has never been live shows a dash under Views, Submissions, and Conversion; a live form nobody has reached shows zeros. Conversion keeps its dash while there are no views, or more submissions than views.

Nothing is missing. The list view of the Forms page counts what each form has done since it went live, and a dash means there’s nothing to count. The cards show no numbers at all; switch to the list with the second of the two view buttons beside Create form.

What each dash means

  • All three dashes on a draft. The form has never been live, so nobody could see it or fill it in.
  • Zeros on a live form. Counting is on, and nobody has reached it yet. Share the link, or check that the embed code is on your site.
  • Zeros on every live form and dashes on the rest. If your forms had numbers before, Jounce couldn’t load them. Reload the page.
  • A dash under Conversion only. Conversion is submissions divided by views. So it waits when there are no views yet. It also waits when a form has more submissions than views, so the rate never reads above 100%. That can happen when signups come through a copy of the form that was placed before Jounce counted its views. There is nothing to fix; as views are counted, the rate appears on its own.

Where the numbers come from

Jounce counts a view each time someone opens a live form, one per person for a short while. It counts a submission each time a new person joins through it. A new view can take a few seconds to show. Both are running totals from the moment the form went live. Unpublishing keeps them, and publishing again adds to them.

What counts, in full, is in What the Forms tab counts.

To see who signed up, open Audience. Under Details on a person’s page, Jounce says they came from a signup form; see Where a subscriber came from.
