Change a field’s label

Short answer

Select the field on the form, then click it again and type over its label. The name its answers save under stays the same.

When you’re done, the field asks the question in your words. Jounce saves the change as you make it.

  1. Select the field on the form. An outline marks its label and its box.
  2. Click the field again. The cursor lands in the label.
  3. Type your words. The form changes as you type.
  4. Click somewhere else, or press Enter or Esc, when you’re done.

A field always has a label. Delete every word and leave, and Jounce puts back the label it had.

The label always shows, above the field’s box. The box stays empty for the visitor’s answer, with no words inside it.

The checkbox’s sentence changes the same way.

A new label changes what a visitor reads, never where the answer is saved. See The fields you can ask for.

A full page with two sets of sign-up fields

Each set keeps its own labels, so a field can read one way at the top of the page and another at the foot. The checkbox’s sentence is the exception. Change it in one place and it changes in both.

Next step

To make a visitor fill it in, see Make a field required.
