Confirmation and opt-in
What happens between someone submitting your form and joining your list. The confirmation email, the page they land on, and the two pages you can design on Settings › Opt-in setup.
- How double opt-in worksWith opt-in on, someone who fills in your form is Unconfirmed until they click the link in a confirmation email. That click makes them Subscribed, saves their consent, and shows your thank-you page.
- The Opt-in setup pageSettings › Opt-in setup has three cards, one for each thing a new subscriber meets: the Confirmation email, the Thank-you page, and the Preferences page. The confirmation email is automatic, and the other two each have an Edit button and a line that reads Using the default or Customised.
- The confirmation emailOne email for the whole workspace, written and sent by Jounce in your brand, with the subject Confirm your subscription to your brand’s name. It has your logo, a headline, one line and a Yes, subscribe me button, and it never shows a person’s name.
- What subscribers see when they confirmAt a personal inbox such as Gmail, one tap on the email’s button confirms them and shows your thank-you page, in your brand. A work or school address presses Confirm subscription first, and a link that is too old shows a short message.
- Edit the thank-you pageOn Settings › Opt-in setup, select Edit beside Thank-you page. It opens in the editor your emails and forms use, where you type on the page and switch parts on or off under Elements.
- The Preferences pageAn editor on Settings › Opt-in setup for a page where subscribers could pick topics, edit their name, or unsubscribe. Your changes save, but no email or form links to this page, so nobody sees it.
- Why is someone still Unconfirmed?Usually their confirmation email is in spam or went to a mistyped address; Resend confirmation on their row sends it again. After a rush of signups it can come a few minutes late, and if nobody gets one, check that the workspace owner verified their email.
- Why does the confirmation link say it expired?A confirmation link works for 7 days, then the page reads This link didn’t work. Their signup is still in Audience as Unconfirmed, and Resend confirmation on their row sends a fresh link.
