Relaunch a paused automation

Short answer

Select Relaunch in the top bar. The status turns Live, and everyone who was holding carries on from the step they stopped at.

When you’re done, the automation is live again. The people who were holding move on from the step they stopped at.

  1. Open the paused automation. The status label in the top bar reads Paused.
  2. Select Relaunch, beside the label. Jounce runs the same check as Launch: if a step needs a choice, a message names it. See What Launch checks.
  3. If you haven’t verified your email yet, a window opens instead: Verify your email to launch. Open the link Jounce sent you, select I’ve verified, then select Relaunch again.
  4. If the automation has a Send email step and no postal address is on file, a window opens: Add your postal address. Fill in your address, select Save address, then select Relaunch again.
  5. The label reads Live, and the message says Your automation is live again. Everyone waiting picks up where they stopped.

A paused automation's top bar, with Undo, Redo, and the Paused label before the Relaunch button, ringed at the right.

What to expect

  • Everyone who was holding carries on from where they stood. Nobody starts over. Nobody gets an email they already got.
  • A wait’s clock kept running during the pause. Someone whose wait ran out while paused moves on soon after you relaunch. Someone whose wait hasn’t ended keeps waiting.
  • An email that came due during the pause goes out.
  • People enter again from the moment you relaunch. Anyone who set off the trigger during the pause stayed out and doesn’t enter.
  • If you changed the steps while paused, the people inside finish the path they started on. Anyone who enters from here on gets your changes. See Editing a live automation.

Who can relaunch

Admins and Managers see Relaunch. An Editor sees the status label alone.
