The Create automation screen

Short answer

Create automation opens a screen that asks How do you want to start? Pick Start with a template, Start with AI, or the smaller Start from scratch button below them.

Every Create automation button opens this screen first. That’s the one at the top right of the Automations page, and the one on the page before your first automation. The screen asks one question, How do you want to start?, and offers three ways.

The How do you want to start? screen, with Start with a template as the first box and Start with AI beside it.

Start with a template

The first large box counts the automations in the gallery. Select it to open the automation template gallery, where you browse by goal and industry and pick a card. The steps are in Create an automation from a template.

Start with AI

The second box reads Describe it — Jounce maps out the steps. Select it to open a page with one text box.

You say what the automation should do, and Jounce drafts the steps for you to finish. See Start an automation with AI. If Jounce can’t draft it, the line it shows says why; see Why didn’t Jounce draft my automation?

Start from scratch

The small button below the boxes skips both. Jounce makes an automation with only its trigger and opens it straight away. While it’s being made, the button shows it’s working and the boxes fade and can’t be selected. See Start an automation from scratch.

Leaving the screen

Automations, at the top left, takes you back to the Automations page. Pressing Esc does the same. Nothing is made until you pick a way to start, so leaving costs nothing.
