What Jounce reads from your website

Setup reads your website while you answer its questions. At the brand step it shows what it found on a sample email, and nothing is saved until you select Save brand.

What it reads

Jounce also reads what kind of business you run. It offers that as a one-tap answer to What kind of business do you run?, and the answer you give goes in your Brand profile.

Your brand’s name

Jounce takes the name your site gives itself. Without one, it uses a name it drafts from your site’s words. Failing that, it guesses from your site’s address and opens the name field for you to check.

The name you save names your workspace, your emails’ From name, and your Brand profile. Change it later in Workspace name on the Members page, From name on the Sending page, and Brand name in your Brand profile. With no logo, your emails show this name at the top.

On the brand step

The step says Here’s your brand. and Read from your site’s address. Under the sample email sit your brand’s name, three of its colors, and Change. Change opens three things:

• Brand name, with Your emails come from this name. When your site gave the name, the hint starts From your website.
• Logo: the logos Jounce found, Upload another, and No logo. With no logo, Without a logo, show: offers Your brand name or Nothing.
• Main color, Button, and Highlight. Pick a main color, and the other two follow it unless you’ve set them yourself. The Brand page calls the main color Brand.

When Jounce drafted your Brand profile, a line under them says Jounce also read your voice and what you offer. Review them in your Brand kit.

When it finds only part, or nothing

• Colors and fonts, but no name or logo. The Read from line adds Jounce found your colors and fonts., and the name and logo open.
• Still reading when you get there. The step says Almost there. and what Jounce is doing, with no Save brand yet. Pick a look instead skips the wait.
• Your site couldn’t be read. The step offers looks under Pick a look to start., with the reason first. Try another address takes you back to the first screen.

Nothing saves until Save brand

Save brand saves your colors, fonts, logo, and brand’s name, and fills in your Brand profile, all at once. If the save fails, Jounce says That didn’t save. Your brand is still here — try again.

Leave before you save, and only your answers so far are kept. Come back past the first screen, and Jounce reads your site again.

What setup leaves to the Brand page

Setup reads less than Scan my site on the Brand page. It skips your buttons’ shape, your social links, your mailing address, and your site’s icon. To bring those in, scan your site there. See Fill your brand from your website.
