Why can’t I skip a setup step?
Short answer
Setup has no skip and no close button on purpose: each step takes one tap or one short answer. Your answers are kept as you go, and nothing about your brand is saved until you select Save brand.
Every setup step needs an answer, so setup has no skip, no close button, and Escape does nothing. Nothing is lost while you’re in it: your answers are kept, and your brand saves only when you select Save brand.
Each step takes one tap or one short answer. Here’s the quickest way through:
| Step | Quickest answer |
|---|---|
| Website | Continue with your site’s address, or I don’t have a website and a name |
| First name | Type it. Jounce asks only when it doesn’t know it yet |
| What you’ll send | Not sure yet counts as an answer |
| How you heard | One tap. Other is always the last answer |
| Your business | Select the answer Jounce read from your site, or pick one from the list |
| Brand | Save brand. When Jounce has no brand to show you, a look is already chosen |
For each screen in order, see Set up Jounce the first time you sign in. With no website, the name you type can be your own. Its hint says Your emails come from this name — it can be your own.
If Continue doesn’t move on
A field is empty, or the website isn’t an address. Jounce says what it needs under the field:
- Enter your website address, like yourbrand.com.
- Enter your business name.
- Enter your first name.
On the brand step, Save brand with no name says Enter your brand name.
If you close the tab
A reload keeps you on the same screen. Close the tab, and setup opens again the next time you open Jounce, with your answers kept. Changes you made on the brand step without saving start over.
After setup
Picking a door at the end finishes setup for that workspace, and it doesn’t open again. Everything it saved stays yours to change, starting with your brand on the Brand page.
