Notifications
Short answer
The bell at the top right, just left of Help, lists what needs you and the news of your workspace’s own work. A small dot on it means something needs you that you haven’t seen.
Notifications is the bell in the top bar, just left of the question mark. It tells you when one of your emails got stuck or needs your OK, and when there’s news, such as results that are in. Everyone in the workspace sees the same rows.
The bell sits on your Emails, Forms, Automations, Audience, Analytics, and Settings pages. On a phone it sits before the help button.
Select the bell to open the list. Select it again, press Escape, or select anywhere outside the list to close it. On a phone, the list runs across the screen.
Needs you
The top group holds what’s waiting on someone, newest first. Each row names the email or the domain, says what happened, and shows when. Select a row to open the page where you can deal with it.
| Row | What happened | Opens |
|---|---|---|
| “⟨email⟩” wasn’t sent | A scheduled email stopped before it started. Nobody received it. | Its send steps |
| “⟨email⟩” needs your OK | It was held past its time. Jounce won’t send it late without you. | Its send steps |
| “⟨email⟩” won’t send | Jounce lost its connection before it could start. | Its send steps |
| “⟨email⟩” won’t finish | An A/B test went out, and the rest of the send didn’t start. | Its results |
| “⟨email⟩” was partly sent | Jounce couldn’t confirm the rest of the send. | Its results |
| ⟨domain⟩ is still waiting on its records | Jounce checked again and couldn’t see your domain’s records. | The Sending page |
Four rows wait on someone: the OK, the email that won’t send, the test that won’t finish, and the domain’s records. Each stays on top until it’s dealt with, then leaves the list. The rows for an email that wasn’t sent or was partly sent move under Recent once you’ve opened the list.
Recent
The news of your workspace’s own work, newest first:
- Results are in for “⟨email⟩” arrives about a day after an email went out, with how many opened and clicked. It opens the email’s results.
- “⟨email⟩” was sent means a scheduled email went out on time. It opens the email’s results.
- You can send from ⟨domain⟩ now means your own sending domain’s records are in place. It opens the Sending page.
Rows leave the list as they age. With nothing to show, the list says Nothing needs you.
By email too
Jounce may also email it to the workspace owner, about an hour after it lands in the bell. Only the owner gets these emails, and only the owner opening the bell first stops one. To choose which kinds come by email, see Emails from Jounce.
The dot
A small dot lights on the bell when something that needs you arrives after you last opened the list. Opening the list turns it off, and one thing never lights it twice. The dot never shows a count.
If you’re an Editor
An Editor can’t send or fix these, so the top group reads Needs an admin or manager and the dot stays off. Some rows leave out the part only an admin or manager can do. A row that would open an email’s send steps opens its results instead. See Workspace roles.
