What a workspace is

Short answer

A workspace is a separate space with its own brand, audiences, emails, team, and billing. Your login can belong to several, and you work in one at a time.

Three words come up on every page, and they mean three different things.

  • Your account is you: your email address and how you sign in. There is one per person.
  • A workspace is where the work lives. Its subscribers, emails, forms, automations, brand, members, and settings belong to it, not to you. One person’s login can belong to many workspaces.
  • Your brand is the look inside a workspace: the logo, colors, and fonts Jounce uses in that workspace’s emails.

A solo sender has one workspace and rarely thinks about it. Someone with two brands, or an agency with a client per workspace, switches between them.

Where you are

Your avatar at the top right opens the account menu. The row under Workspace names the workspace you’re in, and with two or more members it shows the count. A small square beside the name shows the workspace’s icon, or its initials. Choosing that row opens the Workspaces panel.

When you sign in, Jounce opens the workspace you used last.

Before an email goes out, the review step names the workspace it’s sending from. That line is there so you notice a send from the wrong one.

What stays where

Everything you make stays with the workspace you made it in. Switching doesn’t bring your subscribers, emails, or brand along. A second workspace starts empty.

The name, the icon, and the people

An admin renames a workspace, sets its icon, and manages who is in it on the Members page. See Rename your workspace, Change your workspace icon, and The Members page.
