Why can’t I sign in?
Short answer
It’s usually the wrong email or password, or an account made with Google. The message under the fields says what to do next, and your account is untouched.
A failed sign-in changes nothing. Your account, your emails, and your subscribers are where you left them. Match the message on the page to the fix below.
That email or password doesn’t match
Jounce doesn’t say which of the two is wrong. That is on purpose, so nobody can use the sign-in page to find out which addresses have an account.
- Check the email for typos. The eye icon in the password field shows what you typed.
- If you signed up with Google, there is no password. Select Continue with Google instead.
- If you’ve forgotten the password, select Forgot password?. See Reset your password.
- If you never made an account, the create an account link in the message takes you to the sign-up page with your email filled in.
That email already has an account
You’re on the sign-up page, and the address is already registered. The Sign in instead link takes you to the sign-in page with your email filled in.
Too many tries
Jounce says Too many tries. Wait a minute, then try again. Wait a minute, then sign in again. If you’re unsure of the password, use Forgot password? instead of guessing.
It says Check your email
You’re signed in, and your email isn’t verified yet. Jounce waits for that before it opens. Open the email called Verify your email for Jounce and select Verify email. No email? Select Send it again on the page. See Verify your email address.
Couldn’t reach the server
Your connection dropped while Jounce was checking. Check that you’re online and try again.
Back on the sign-in page after Google
Going back from Google’s page before you pick an account cancels the sign-in. Select Continue with Google again and choose an account.
Signed in, but the app didn’t load
You’re signed in. Reload the page, and Jounce opens.
