How invites work

An invite is how a person joins your workspace. Only an admin can send one. The admin types the person’s email address, picks a role, and Jounce sends the email. The person opens the link, signs in, and selects Join workspace. From then on they work in your workspace with the role they were given.

What the link can and can’t do

• It works for seven days. The email says the exact date. After that the link says That invite expired and an admin sends a fresh one.
• It works for one address. The person has to sign in with the address the invite went to. Forwarded to someone else, the link stops at This invite is for another address.
• It needs a verified address. A login with a password verifies its email before it can join. So it takes the invited inbox to get in, not just the link. A Google sign-in comes verified.
• It works once. After the person joins, the link says That invite was already used. A person who was removed can’t get back in with their old link; an admin invites them again.
• An admin can revoke it at any time before it’s used. See Resend or revoke an invite.

What the person gets

An email from Jounce with the subject ⟨Your name⟩ invited you to ⟨Your workspace⟩. It names the role and carries one button, Join workspace. If they have no Jounce login yet, they create one on the way and come back to the invite.

Once they join, a short welcome asks their first name if Jounce doesn’t know it yet, then what they’d like to do first. They never see setup: the brand belongs to your workspace, and nothing they answer changes it. See Your first minutes in a workspace you joined.

Joining adds your workspace beside anything they already have. Their own workspaces stay theirs, and yours stays yours. See What a workspace is.

The role

The role is set when the invite is sent. An admin can change it later on the Members page. See Workspace roles.

Where invites live

Select your avatar, choose All settings, then Members. Admins see the Invite button and, when one is waiting, the Pending invites list. Everyone else sees the member list alone.
