Where a subscriber came from

Short answer

Every subscriber’s page records how they joined: Added manually, CSV import, Signup form, or API. Open their page and look under Details.

Jounce records how each person joined your list, so you can tell a signup from an import months later.

The four sources

Source How they joined
Added manually You typed them in with Add subscriber › Add manually.
CSV import They came in with a file through Add from CSV.
Signup form They filled in one of your forms.
API Another tool added them through the developer API.

Where it shows

Open the person from the list and look under Details on the right. Source sits below Date added and Consented, and names how they joined. Below the rows, Consent record holds the proof: the form they used, the words they agreed to, and the internet address Jounce saw. See The consent record.

The Activity list on the same page ends with the same fact, as its oldest line: Joined · Signup form, for example.

On the Subscribers page, the filter builder has Signup source. Use it to show everyone who joined one way, such as every CSV import.

When it shows a dash

A dash means Jounce has no record of how that person joined. That happens for people added before Jounce kept the source. On Analytics, the same people are under Not recorded. See Why does Analytics say Not recorded?.
