Import from a CSV
Bring a whole list in from a file — what the file needs, the three steps, and what Jounce does with people it already knows or can’t mail.
- Import subscribers from a CSV fileOpen Audience, select Add subscriber, then Add from CSV. Upload your file, check the matches, confirm everyone asked to hear from you, name the batch, and select Import subscribers.
- Prepare your CSV fileSave your list as a CSV with a header row and one column of email addresses. Name the columns the way Jounce expects and it matches them for you.
- The Import subscribers screenAdd from CSV opens a full-screen importer with three steps across the top: Upload, Map fields, and Segment. Each step asks one thing.
- The permission statementEvery import asks you to confirm that everyone on the list asked to hear from you. Jounce keeps a record of that confirmation with the file’s name and the date.
- When an email already existsAn import never makes a duplicate: you update or skip anyone already on your list. Either way their status, join date, and history stay as they are.
- Keep your opt-in proof when you importKeep the opt-in date and IP columns in your export. On Match your columns, the date maps to Consent date and the rest to Keep as proof, and Jounce saves both on each person’s record.
- Add a custom field while importingOn Match your columns, set a column’s Maps to field to Create new field…, name it, and select Create field. The column maps to it and the field shows on every subscriber’s page.
- Imports that finish in the backgroundA long list imports in the background. The screen says Your list is importing, you can close the tab, and Jounce emails you when it’s done.
- Why were some rows rejected?Jounce sets aside any address it can’t safely send to and takes everyone else in. Select Download the rejected rows to see each address and why.
- Why won’t my file import? It’s usually the file’s shape or a step you haven’t finished. The message on screen says which, and your list stays the same until the import runs.
- Why aren’t imported subscribers in the segments from my file?A Segments column only adds people to segments you already have, spelled the same. Create the segment, then import the file again with Update their details and keep their history.
