The engagement presets
Short answer
Three ready-made filters that start from Subscribed. Most engaged clicked in the last 30 days, Engaged were active in the last 90, and Gone quiet showed no activity in 90 or more.
A preset is a ready-made filter for the three questions every list owner asks. Each one starts with Status is Subscribed, so it only ever counts people you can send to.
| Preset | What it adds | The people it finds |
|---|---|---|
| Most engaged | Last clicked in the last 30 days | Subscribers who clicked a link in the last month |
| Engaged | Last activity in the last 90 days | Subscribers who opened, clicked, or joined lately |
| Gone quiet | Last activity not in the last 90 days | Subscribers with no open, click, or joining in 90 days |
Most engaged counts clicks and not opens on purpose. Some mail apps open every email for the reader. So a click is the surer sign a person is there. See How Jounce measures activity.
Where they live
- At the top of the filter builder, as three buttons. Pick one, and its rows fill the dialog. You can change any of them: make Most engaged 60 days instead of 30, for example.
- On the Segments page, under Suggested, as three cards. A card skips the builder and opens Save as segment straight away, counting who matches before you name it. The cards show while your list has people in it and the search box is empty.
Gone quiet is a label
Saving Gone quiet as a segment doesn’t stop email to those people. To rest them, exclude the segment when you send. Jounce says as much in the save dialog.
A young list
Gone quiet needs 90 days of history. On a list younger than that, it finds no one. The dialog says so: A list younger than 90 days hasn’t had time to go quiet.
