Delete a custom field’s value
Short answer
Select the three dots above the field on their page and choose Delete value. The box stays on the page, empty, and Undo in the message that follows puts the value back.
When you’re done, that person no longer has a value in the field.
- Open Audience and select the person’s name. Their page opens.
- Find the field in the card on the left and select the three dots above it, at the right of its label. Admins and Managers see them on every field. For everyone else, only a field with a value has them.
- Choose Delete value. Jounce empties the box and saves right away.
For a field called Company, Jounce says “Company” value deleted. at the bottom right. It offers Undo for a few seconds. Undo puts the value back and saves it.
The empty box
The box stays where it was, empty, the same as when you delete its text by hand and leave the field. What you see on your next visit depends on where the field came from.
- A field you or a teammate added, by hand or while importing, belongs to the whole workspace. Its box stays on their page, empty until someone fills it in.
- Some fields only came from one of your forms and were never added to the workspace. Such a field’s box stays, empty, until you leave the page. The next time you open their page, it’s gone.
Delete value touches this person alone. If you’re an Admin or a Manager, Delete field in the same menu takes the field off every subscriber’s page, values and all. See Delete a custom field.
If it didn’t delete
For a field called Company, Jounce says Couldn’t delete the “Company” value. Nothing changed — refresh the page and try again. Jounce puts the value back in its box, and nothing was deleted. Refresh the page, then choose Delete value again.
Next step
To find everyone who still has a value, filter by the field.
