Why didn’t my scheduled email use my time zone?
Short answer
The Time zone on the Basics page doesn’t set the time of a scheduled send. The schedule step has its own time zone, and so does a countdown timer.
Your email went out at the time shown on the schedule step, in the time zone picked there. Nothing was lost.
Where each time zone is set
- A scheduled send picks its time zone on the Review step, under When. It starts as your own zone, and you can change it beside the time. See Schedule your email for later.
- A countdown timer has a Timezone setting in its panel. See Add a countdown timer.
- An automation delay counts in UTC. See Why did my delay end at the wrong time?.
The Time zone on the Basics page is saved with your workspace, but it doesn’t change any of these.
The fix
Open the email’s schedule. Before you pick a time, check the time zone beside it. For a send that’s already scheduled, cancel it on the Emails page. Then select Review and send on its results page and pick the zone you meant.
