Why couldn’t Jounce read my website?

Short answer

Usually the address has a typo, your site turned the scan away, or Jounce is busy. Nothing on your Brand page changed, so check the address and scan again, or fill in your brand by hand.

Your brand is as it was: a scan that stops changes nothing. The line under the box says what happened.

Jounce says What to do
Enter your website address, like yourbrand.com. The box was empty. Type the address and scan again.
We couldn’t read that website. Check the address and try again. The address didn’t lead to a page Jounce could read, often because of a typo. Check the spelling, and open the site in a browser tab to be sure it loads.
That site blocked the scan. Nothing’s changed — fill your brand in by hand. Your site turns away automated visits, so a second scan meets the same answer. Fill in your brand by hand.
That site’s having trouble right now. Nothing’s changed — try again in a few minutes. Your site answered with an error. Wait a few minutes and scan again.
We couldn’t find readable content on that website. Jounce reached the site but found no text on it to read. Fill in your brand by hand.
We couldn’t read that site — nothing’s changed. Check the address, or fill your brand in by hand. The scan failed on Jounce’s side. Scan again, or fill in your brand by hand.
Jounce couldn’t read that site. Check the address and try again. The scan didn’t finish, often a dropped connection. Scan again.
Jounce is busy right now. Nothing’s changed — give it a moment and try again. The service behind the scan is at capacity. Wait a minute and scan again.
Jounce couldn’t confirm your account right now. Nothing was changed — try again in a moment. Jounce couldn’t check your account, and your site is fine. Scan again in a moment.
Jounce paused AI features for everyone for now. Nothing was changed, and everything else works as usual. Try again later — they’re back within a day. Jounce has paused its AI features for every workspace, not only yours. Scan again later, or fill in your brand by hand.
You’ve reached your AI limit for now. It opens again at a time it names. You’ve used all the AI you can for now. Scan again after that time, or fill in your brand by hand.
You’ve run a lot of brand scans recently. Give it a few minutes and try again. A workspace gets a set number of scans in a short time. Wait a few minutes.
Taking longer than usual — still working. Not a failure. A large site takes longer to read, so wait: the result arrives, or a message says it couldn’t.

A window titled Verify your email to scan your site isn’t a problem with your site. Jounce scans once your email is verified. See Verify your email address.

Colors and fonts filled, but no logo or profile

A scan reads your site in two parts. Your colors and fonts come first. Your logo, your brand profile, and the look of your buttons come in the second part, which uses Jounce’s AI.

That part can miss while the colors still fill in. It misses when Jounce has paused AI features for everyone, or when you’ve reached your AI limit for now, too.

When it misses, the card still says the scan filled your brand. The Brand profile and Shape cards stay as they were. With no logo yet, the Logo card says Jounce couldn’t read a logo from your site. Add yours here. Scan again later, or add your logo and profile by hand.

Fill it in by hand

Everything the scan fills, you can set yourself. Upload your logo, pick your fonts, and set your colors on the same page, then select Save kit. See Upload your logo, Choose your brand fonts, and Set your brand colors.
