Why does it say a workspace needs at least one admin?
Short answer
You tried to remove, demote, or leave as the workspace’s only admin, and a workspace always keeps one, so nothing changed. Make someone else an Admin first, then try again.
Every workspace keeps at least one Admin, so Jounce refuses the one change that would leave it with none. Nothing changed. The member list is as it was, and you’re still in the workspace.
The refusal reads one of three ways, depending on what you tried:
- A workspace needs at least one admin. Make someone else an admin first. — you chose Remove from workspace for the only admin, or moved them to Manager or Editor.
- You’re the workspace’s last admin, and a workspace needs one. Nothing changed — make someone else an admin, then leave. — you selected Leave workspace as the only admin, with other people in the workspace.
- You’re the only person here, so there’s no one to hand this workspace to. Nothing changed — invite someone and make them an admin, then leave. — you selected Leave workspace as the only member.
What to do
- If you’re the only person, invite the person who’ll take over. See Invite someone to your workspace. Wait until they accept and appear in the member list.
- Open their row’s role menu and pick Admin. See Change a member’s role.
- Try again: remove the other admin, change their role, or select Leave workspace. See Leave a workspace.
Only an Admin can take over the people, the workspace name, and the invites. So a Manager or an Editor has to become an Admin first. Making them the owner does that too, and sends them replies and Jounce’s emails about the workspace. See Make someone else the owner.
If you want the workspace gone
Jounce has no button that deletes a workspace. A workspace you no longer use stays on your login with you as its Admin. Nothing sends from it unless someone schedules an email there. Switch to the workspace you do use from the account menu.
