Why is Entered 0 on the Automations tab?

Short answer

Nobody went into an automation during the time range, and a zero doesn’t mean anything stopped. Usually the automation isn’t live, its trigger hasn’t happened for anyone since launch, or people entered before the range.

Entered counts people who went into an automation during the time range. A zero means nobody did in those days. It doesn’t mean anything stopped: in a live automation, people already inside keep moving through it. One of these is why.

They entered before the range

The page opens on the last 30 days. People who entered earlier are still in the automation. They still count in its Sent, Open, and Click, which cover its whole life. Pick a longer range. 12 months is the longest. The automation’s insights page counts everyone who ever entered. See Choose a time range.

It is sending, but to people who entered earlier

An automation sends each time a person reaches a step. So it can email people this week who entered last month. Entered counts each time someone went in, not emails sent. A zero beside a growing Sent means it’s working as it should.

It isn’t live

A Draft has never been launched, so nobody can enter it. A Paused automation keeps the people inside, but lets nobody new in until you relaunch. The Status column in Your automations says which. See Launch an automation and Relaunch a paused automation.

The trigger hasn’t happened for anyone

A live automation takes someone in only when its trigger happens for them after launch. People already in the segment when you launched don’t enter. And a person enters each automation only once. See Why isn’t anyone entering my automation?

The numbers are a minute old

Someone who entered a moment ago can take about a minute to count. Jounce also shows the numbers it already loaded for about a minute. Reload the page once a minute has passed. See Why are my Analytics numbers behind?
