Why are my Analytics numbers behind?
Short answer
The As of line under the page title says when the numbers on screen were fetched. Jounce shows the last numbers it had first, so the page can read a little behind.
Most often the page is showing numbers it fetched earlier. Look under the page title: As of and a time say when. If that time is more than a minute ago, reload the page and the fresh count arrives. Nothing you did is lost.
Analytics isn’t a live feed
Jounce fetches the numbers when you open the page or change the range, not while you watch. On this browser, it keeps the numbers it last showed you.
When you open Analytics again, it shows them at once. If they’re more than about a minute old, it asks for fresh ones in the background. The As of line changes when they arrive, usually within a moment.
Numbers older than about a day don’t come back at all; the page loads fresh instead.
If the line still names an earlier time, or an earlier day, the fresh numbers didn’t get through. Jounce keeps what it had rather than show nothing. Reload the page, or pick a different range and come back. The Try again button appears only when a tab has nothing to show.
Counts that take a moment
A change you made a moment ago, like adding a subscriber, takes about a minute to reach the count. Wait a minute, then reload once, and it is there.
Numbers that arrive over days
Bounces and spam complaints come back from mail servers over a day or two after a send. The Emails tab’s bounces line and the Delivered card settle as they arrive. Opens and clicks keep growing for as long as people open the email. See How Jounce counts opens, clicks, and bounces.
A send you don’t see
The Emails tab counts a send from the moment it finishes, on the date it finished. An email still going out isn’t in the range yet. Once it is, its row joins Recent sends at the top.
