Remove your sending domain
Short answer
On the Sending page, select Remove domain in the Your own sending domain card, then Remove domain in the dialog. Your emails go back to being sent through Jounce.
When you’re done, the Your own sending domain card is back to its Domain field, and the From card reads Sent via Jounce.
Only an admin or a manager sees Remove domain. It’s the way to switch domains, and the way to clear one that was never authenticated.
- Select your avatar at the top right and choose Sending.
- In the Your own sending domain card, select Remove domain. A dialog headed Remove sending domain? opens.
- Read it. It names the domain and the address your emails go out from after it: your business name on Jounce’s shared address, such as calpreserving@send.jouncemail.com. Your audiences and emails stay untouched. Keep it closes the dialog without a change.
- Select Remove domain. The dialog closes and the card shows the Domain field again.
If Jounce can’t finish, it says Couldn’t remove the domain just now. Your settings are unchanged — try again.
What removing does
Jounce takes down the records on its side, the ones your domain’s CNAMEs point to, and forgets the domain. From then on your emails go out through Jounce, from your address at send.jouncemail.com. Emails you’ve already sent are untouched, and so are your subscribers. Replies still go to the workspace owner’s sign-in email.
Careful Removing an authenticated domain changes the address on every email you send after that, even ones already scheduled, and on your automation emails too.
Adding it back
Type the domain and select Authenticate domain again. The three records are the same as before. If you left them at your provider, Jounce can authenticate the domain without you adding them again.
Next step
To add this domain again or a different one, see Send from your own domain.
