Why didn’t my AI tool connect?

Short answer

Usually the approval didn’t finish. Nothing connects until you select Allow read-only access on the screen the tool opens, so start again from the tool and approve it in Jounce.

A connection has two halves: the tool sends you to Jounce, and you approve it there. If either half stopped, the tool isn’t connected, and nothing in your workspace changed. The screen you saw last says which half it was.

Jounce says That didn’t go through

The full line reads That didn’t go through. Nothing was connected — try again. Select Allow read-only access once more. If it comes back a second time, remove the connector in the tool and add it again with your MCP link. Approve the fresh request; see Connect Claude to Jounce. Gemini’s own steps are in Connect Gemini to Jounce.

A window says Verify your email to connect an app

You signed up with an email and a password and haven’t verified it yet, so nothing was connected. Open the link Jounce sent you, select I’ve verified, then select Allow read-only access again. Didn’t get it? Resend in the window sends a fresh link. See Verify your email address.

The screen says Not connected

You chose Not now, so nothing was connected: Nothing was connected. You can close this tab. The tool isn’t told, so start again from it whenever you’re ready.

The link was pasted, bookmarked, or reopened, so it arrived without the details the tool sends along. Start the connection again from the tool; see Why does it say this connection link is incomplete?

There is no Allow button

You’re an Editor in this workspace, and the screen’s line reads Admins and managers approve connections. Ask an Admin or a Manager to approve it; see Why does it say admins and managers approve connections?

The tool was connected and stopped answering

An Admin or a Manager disconnected it under Connected AI tools on the Claude, ChatGPT & Gemini page. A disconnected tool is cut off right away. A tool also stops when the person who connected it leaves the workspace, is removed, or becomes an Editor.

Open the page and check the list. If the tool is gone, add the connector again in the tool. An Admin or a Manager approves it once more in Jounce.

The answers are about the wrong workspace

The tool reads the workspace you were in when you approved it. Switch to the workspace you want in Jounce, then add the connector again in the tool and approve it there; see Switch workspaces.
