Why does it say admins and managers approve connections?
Short answer
You’re an Editor in this workspace, so connecting or disconnecting an app isn’t yours to do and nothing is wrong. Ask an Admin or a Manager to approve it, or select Not now to send the app away.
Connecting an app reaches your whole workspace, so Jounce leaves it to Admins and Managers. As an Editor you can see everything an app asks for, but the button that grants it isn’t there. The same goes wherever a connection is approved or cut.
On the connect screen
The screen titled ⟨app⟩ wants to connect to Jounce opens when an app or an AI tool sends you to Jounce. Instead of Allow full access or Allow read-only access, its line reads Admins and managers approve connections. Ask one to connect ⟨app⟩. The list under it still says exactly what the app would be allowed to do.
You can still select Not now. It usually tells an app you declined, so the app stops waiting; an AI tool isn’t told. Nothing changes in your workspace either way.
On the Integrations page
The Connected apps card lists every connected app, but its line reads Admins and managers disconnect apps and the rows have no Disconnect button. The Connected AI tools list on the Claude, ChatGPT & Gemini page reads the same way.
What to do
- Check which workspace you’re in. Your role can differ from one workspace to the next. The account menu names the workspace under Workspace, with your role on the line under your email. See Workspace roles.
- Ask an Admin or a Manager to connect the app. They start the connection from the app on their own login, and the screen shows them the Allow button.
- If you need to connect apps yourself, ask an Admin to change your role. A Manager can approve a connection but can’t change a role. See Change a member’s role.
Jounce says Only workspace admins and managers can do this
You selected the button that grants or disconnects, and this message came back. The button showed before Jounce finished checking your role, or Jounce couldn’t read your role. Or your role changed to Editor while the page was open. Nothing changed. Reload the page to see it as your role does.
