Why didn’t my Zap add someone to Jounce?

Short answer

Usually Jounce refused the address, or the person was already in your audience and was updated instead. Open the run in Zapier: its details show Jounce’s own sentence saying why.

A refusal stops only that one person. Nothing else in the run is affected, and the rest of your audience is untouched. Open the run in Zapier to see Jounce’s own sentence, then find it below for the fix.

Temporary email addresses are not accepted

The address uses a throwaway domain. Jounce refuses those on forms, in imports, and from connected apps. There is nothing to fix in Jounce; the person needs a lasting address.

That domain is a test or placeholder domain

The address uses a domain kept for examples, such as example.com. Test the Zap with a real address you own.

That address can’t receive mail

Jounce knows the address can’t take mail, so it leaves it out. There is nothing to fix; the person needs a working address.

That’s a subscriber’s old address

Someone on your list used this address before their email address was changed in Jounce. It stays theirs, so Jounce adds no one. The mailbox may be closed, or someone else’s.

They’re still on your list at their new address, so use that address in the other app. If you deleted them, type this address into Add manually to see where to add them back.

They’re in Jounce, but Unconfirmed

You chose Send a confirmation email first. They stay Unconfirmed until they click the link in that email; see Resend a confirmation email.

They’re in Jounce, but still Unsubscribed

The person was already in your audience. Or they had unsubscribed, bounced, or complained before. Create or Update Subscriber updates names, custom fields, and segments, but never a status. Someone who opted out before keeps that status. What clears each one is in Subscriber statuses.

Unknown segment id

The segment was deleted after the Zap was built. Open the Zap and pick a segment that exists.

Daily new-subscriber ceiling reached

Each workspace can add a set number of new people a day through connected apps. The sentence Zapier shows says when the count resets. Zapier can replay the run after that.

The person landed in another workspace

The connection reaches the workspace you were in when you approved it; see Why did my Zap stop?
